Respecting and Adherence to Traffic Regulations indicates awareness and Urbanization

On Thursday 19/9/2019, Tammuz Organization for Social Development held an educational and raising awareness workshop on Traffic Law No.8 2019. The workshop was held in cooperation with the Social Center in Dhi-Qar Municipal Council in the presence of legal advisors in the Council in addition to some representatives of Dhi-Qar departments.  It was held on the municipal hall and was opened by welcoming the attendants who were greeted by our colleague Razzaq Obaid Farhan, then a review of the articles of Law No. 8 of 2019 which included its various sections on important aspects and the definition of what came in its paragraphs of vehicles and fines, while there was a detail of the table of fines clarified by the law in detail. The first aspect that was discussed in the texts of the articles of the law and the paragraphs contained in it that require adherence to them as long as the law was passed and voted on and published in the official gazette and the second side is the schedule of fines mentioned in Article (25) of the law which was explained in detail and a description of the fine.

Several notes were addressed as follows:

v The law was passed and it was binding for all despite it has some technical issues.

v There wasn’t enough education and awareness regarding the law after its legislation and having it published in the official paper, it should have been widely covered by social media because it deals daily with all the vital centers in the country and society.

v Streets and technical aspects should be well prepared, to facilities law enforcement, strengthening them with cameras and observing crossroads and main streets.

v Media education for the public, holding seminars and workshops to facilities law enforcement.

v Holding workshops to train traffic police officers on how to enforce the law.6-to hold other meetings and seminars to publicize   other groups of people with the law.

v To conduct a study by the legal advisor of the Governorate council regarding the occurrence of any damages relating to some articles of the law especially those related to the structures of streets, cameras and so on.
