Dialogue Session on the Importance of Social Security for Workers in the Informal and Non-Governmental Sector

Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in cooperation with the Iraqi Al-Amal Association, held a dialogue session to discuss the importance of social security for workers in the informal sector. The session took place on Saturday, 20 December 2025, at the Iraqi Al-Amal Association Hall in Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate, as part of the initiative to raise awareness and facilitate access to voluntary social security for informal sector workers.

The session was attended by representatives from the Provincial Council, the Services Committee, and the Federation of Trade Unions, in addition to members of civil society organizations, volunteer teams, and activists.

The discussion during the session focused on the main challenges facing informal sector workers and ways to enhance their inclusion in social protection and social security. The session concluded with a set of important recommendations aimed at supporting workers’ rights and strengthening the role of the private sector in economic and social development.
