On Thursday , 9/3/2017, the first seminar was held by TOSD in Alnasr camp in Amiriyat Alfalluja , the seminar was attended by 35 displaced (15 men, 20 women) . The seminar was also attended by our fellow Abdulqadir Rabea, representative of (DRC) organization .
Our fellow Ali Ghazal started by welcoming the attendance ant spoke about the legal clinic. Our fellow in the free legal clinic , lawyer Adil Ibrahim , started to talk about the rights of the displaced and registration measures as well as the return . He urged the displaced who were not registered at the migration offices to register to ensure their rights as follows:
1- A confirmation letter from the Mukhtar of the area
2- A confirmation letter from the police station
3- Submitting an application to the migration office in the province
Then the floor was opened for discussion. Khamis Humoud, a displaced man, started by asking about the registration of his son in the migration office while he hadn’t a ration card in his name. The question was answered by our fellow Adil Ibrahim saying that the instructions by the ministry was that all four verification documents should be in the name of the beneficiary. The female displaced, Siham Hussein, asked that she was divorcee and not registered in the migration office and her Key Card still in her divorced husband’s name , the answer came from our fellow lawyer Adil who explained the necessity of submitting an application to the migration office after presenting the divorce decision and changing and issuing a ration card in her name , and changing the civil status identification card from married status into divorcee in order that the legal clinic could do the required measures. Then our fellow Adil explained the return measures for those willing to return and the necessity to prepare the following:
1- Submitting a return confirmation letter from the local council.
2- The four identification documents
3- A letter to the migration office in the province
Then the floor was opened for discussion. Ali Sabah, a displaced, asked a question that he registered his name as a displaced but his name did not appear in the displaced lists and now he wanted to return. The question was answered by our fellow Adil by the necessity to bring a confirmation letter as a displaced from the local council . Moreover, Adil affirmed the importance of confirming the registration to ensure their rights during their return to their areas. At the end of the seminar the audience extended their thanks to the staff of TOSD for their interest in the displaced affairs.
