A dialogue session on 1325 Resolution

On Saturday 23 July 2022, in Najaf governorate, a dialogue seminar on 1325 resolution was held by revolution female team and in cooperation with a number of female activists.

The reason behind establishing such session was to discuss and to follow on the enforcing of the aforementioned resolution, which emphasizes on the importance of increasing the representing of women in all levels of decision making local and international and the necessity to make special measurement for protecting women and girls of gender-based violence in conflict cases especially   rape and other forms of sexual harassment.

During the seminar, of the resolution and its impact on protecting women and changing their status in case enforcing it by the governmental institutions.

It was also emphasized on the importance of following up on having it enforced and their seriousness in this regard.

The session had several outputs as recommendations the most prominent of which are: highlighting women’s role in peacebuilding in the liberated areas, providing psychological and security support for women vulnerable to violence.

It was also agreed of launching a defending campaign to push on activating the resolution.
