Al –Thawra Untha: Dialogue Seminar on combatting violence against women

On Saturday, December 4, in Najaf Governorate, in the presence of several activists and women’s rights defenders. Tammuz Organization for Social Development held a dialogue session to discuss violence against women on the occasion of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women.

The purpose of the session was to learn more about the women activists’ stories regarding violence, discuss these cases, learn about women’s fears within society, and the most prominent harassment they face. Besides, the session dealt with women’s rights and the need to demand and protect them.

During the session, the movie “The Opened Door”, an Egyptian movie whose events revolve around women’s fears within society and their suffering because of customs and traditions. The persistence of the phenomenon of violence against women and the increase in its rates over the years.

It is worth noting that the “Al-Thawra Untha ” project is implemented by the Tammuz Organization in cooperation with the PAX organization in the governorates of Najaf and Dhi Qar. It is a program that aims to highlight the role of women and develop their capabilities to be able to change their stereotyped image and participate effectively in leadership and decision-making positions.
