As part of a project to promote business integrity values and anti-corruption practices

Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in partnership with Transparency International and funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), conducted a training workshop in Basra Governorate. The workshop took place from December 8th to 9th, 2023, at the Shams Al-Basra Hotel.

The training was attended by 25 young entrepreneurs and owners of small and start-up projects. They were trained under the guidance of trainer Thaer Ali Al-Mansour. The objective of the training was to build the capacities of youth and women and enhance their role in formulating policies, procedures, and codes of conduct for projects, as well as anti-corruption policies and complaint mechanisms for project staff and clients. The training also covered administrative planning, decision-making, and the characteristics of administrative problems in decision-making, as well as how to deal with corruption issues.

During the first day, the trainer explained several topics, including the importance of small projects, their criteria, and specific concepts related to them. He also discussed policies, codes of conduct, and how to write them, among other things.

On the second day, there was a discussion about the concept of corruption, anti-corruption policies, and how to write them, in addition to transparency indicators in the project. The trainer then addressed the policy of complaints and the practical steps for filing complaints.
