Center of Media Youths of Tammuz Organization for Social Development continues in Media Sessions

With near the end its fourth session, the Youth Media Center of Tammuz Organization for Social Development continues in its training work, which started since it opened over a year ago in order to set his goals in training of youth students aged from 11 to 18 years old about the principles press, radio and electronic media as well as to continue training the principles of human rights and the promotion of national unity.
Center opened in Waziriya area because it a religiously mixed area and suffered from terrorism for a long time, in addition to the lack of activity of civil society organizations in that region, which would achieve the required objectives of the project. Since it opened, it graduates three sessions and more than 90 trainees have received intensive training on the principles of media theoretically and practically, where they do many tours to centers such as Zora’a Club, displaced complex in the Shaab district and Dar Bait al-A’amn for Orphans and carried out media investigations for these sites and received lectures from known media figures such as Mr. Ahmed Jawad, director of Radio Sawa, Dr. Ali Nashmi and Munir Bashir head band of lute and the Musician Sami Nassim.
And in order to apply everything, they have learned the trainees to implement a radio program called Youth Conversation, talking about the themes of different topics by their own efforts, in addition to radio and social service announcements under the supervision of staff training, and after the first year of the project it decided to transfer the place of project to the Zayouna area similarity as Waziriya area, and for the purpose of increasing the recipient regions of the project, where it was started of the fourth session.
The project faced many of obstructions such as find the place and getting of necessary approvals to start the work and visiting of schools, as well as the security situation that obliged us to cancel the training for many days because of terrorism acts near center, but all that were passing by staff and professors.
This project is one of Tammuz Organization projects that aim the Iraqi youth to develop their statue and capacity, and the organization contributed in awareness of trainers on the work of civil society organizations in Iraq and how to contribute in it.
