Community Initiative: A Dialogue Session on Leadership, Dialogue, and Peacebuilding Skills
Tuqa Raed, a graduate of the sixth generation of the Youth Leaders Program from Al-Muthanna Governorate, implemented a community initiative with the support of Tammuz Organization for Social Development. The initiative consisted of a dialogue session titled “Leadership, Dialogue, and Peacebuilding Skills,” held on Friday, 21 August 2026, with the participation of a group of young people.
The initiative aimed to promote the concept of effective leadership among young people and highlight the importance of dialogue as a fundamental tool for understanding others, managing differences, and building relationships based on respect, mutual understanding, and peace.
The session was interactive and discussion-based, providing participants with the opportunity to share their views and experiences and discuss a range of issues related to leadership, dialogue, and conflict management. It also addressed the concept of leadership, the skills required of an effective leader, and the role of young people in promoting a culture of dialogue and peace within their communities, in addition to strengthening critical thinking and respect for diversity.
This initiative is part of a series of community initiatives implemented by program graduates after completing the program, as part of their social responsibility towards their communities and with the aim of serving the community and raising awareness on various social and humanitarian issues.
It is worth noting that the Youth Leaders Program aims to develop community leaders and is implemented annually by Tammuz Organization for Social Development in partnership with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). To date, six generations have graduated from the program, comprising more than 160 young men and women from different governorates, religions, sects, and ethnic backgrounds.
