Consultative meeting rehabilitation of Al-Mandi Park in Nasiriyah

With the support of Taffi program funded by the USAID, Tammuz Organization for Social Development held a consultative meeting on the rehabilitation and restoration of Al-Mandi Park, which is in the city of Nasiriyah within the recovery program on Monday, August 22, 2022.

The meeting witnessed the attendance of several representatives and directors of the relevant government departments, as well as the community police, the director of the Family and Child Department, the director of the Department of Women’s Empowerment, Environment, and Agriculture, besides a group of professors from Dhi Qar University and representatives of civil society organizations.

At the beginning of the meeting, Colleague Razak Obaid Daher, Director of Tammuz Organization’s office in Dhi Qar, summarized the garden and its founding date back to 1928. After that, Dr. Samer Handal, representative of the Sabian sect, spoke about the population diversity surrounding the garden and the relations between the sects.

Colleague Razak Obeid also explained the mechanism that will be worked on in the design and restoration of the garden, the future vision, and the final shape of the place.
