“Dialogue session on wrong socialization”
Tammuz Organization for Social Development carried out a dialogue session on ” Wrong Socialization” within the Female Revolution Project on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Dhi Qar Governorate.
The session was held at Rayaheen Al-Zahraa School for Girls with the participation of the school’s teaching staff. The aim of this session was to discuss the concept of wrong norms and traditions in society with the teaching staff and to increase their knowledge Wrong Socialization because of the importance of the educational institution regarding the upbringing of future generations.
The discussion during the session revolved around persecution and discrimination based on gender, gender roles and how to change them by changing place and time, as well as unconscious bias in raising children and dealing with males and students, as all social institutions, including schools and some educational curricula, contribute to perpetuating discrimination based on social gender.
It is worth noting that the “Female Revolution” project is implemented by the Tammuz Organization in cooperation with the PAX organization in the governorates of Najaf and Dhi Qar. It is a program that aims to highlight the role of women and develop their capabilities to be able to change their stereotyped image and participate effectively in leadership and decision-making positions.
