Enhancing the Political Participation of Men and Women in Elections

Tammuz Organization for Social Development Organized, in collaboration with Bawsala Foundation for Sustainable Development, implemented a training entitled “Enhancing Political Participation in Elections” as part of the Women for Democracy project in Najaf governorate. The training took place on Thursday, December 14, 2023, and was attended by a group of candidates for the Najaf Provincial Council, as well as interested individuals in electoral affairs.

During the training, there was a discussion about the key priorities and issues identified by the candidates for the upcoming Provincial Council, and the extent to which these priorities and issues align with our local community. The participants found out ways to work on and develop short-term and long-term issues and priorities. Additionally, the workshop addressed the criteria for the integrity of the electoral process in Iraq and provided a detailed comparison of different types of electoral laws.
