Orientation seminar on 13025 Resolution
On Monday, November 7, 2022, at the Technical Institute hall in Dhi Qar, The female revolution team – Dhi Qar governorate implemented an introductory seminar on Resolution 1325, which is dedicated for women, security and peace.
The Seminar was attended by the Dean of the Technical Institute, besides several teaching staff and students. At the beginning of the symposium, the audience was introduced to Resolution 1325, which focuses on the importance of increasing the representation of women at all levels of decision-making, mainly national, regional, and international institutions, and the need to take special measures to protect women and girls from existing violence. On gender in conflict situations, particularly rape and other forms of sexual abuse.
The mechanisms for its implementation in Iraq and the three government plans for its implementation were also discussed, and the reasons that led to the failure of its implementation in the required manner, the most prominent of which was the economic situation, which deteriorated in the previous period due to the drop in oil prices and the crises of ISIS in Iraq and the abolition of the Ministry of State for Women’s Affairs, where it is considered the body responsible for following up the implementation of plans.
After that, the impact of the decision on changing the status of women, their protection, empowerment, and their participation in decision-making was discussed, if implemented and implemented by state institutions.
