The final workshop for the fourth-generation young leaders
During the period 29-30 July 2022 in Baghdad, Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in collaboration with Friedrich Ebert-Stiftung, held the final workshop for fourth-generation young leaders, which was on “Fundamental of Social Democracy“.
25 trainees from all governorates of Iraq attended the workshop, besides the staff of the Friedrich Ebert-Stiftung – Iraq Office. The workshop, led by Mr. Abbas Al-Sharifi, began by describing the primary values of social democracy and recorded development.
Then the trainer dealt with the International Covenant on Economic and Social Rights and the responsibilities of states, after that the participants were divided into operating groups each group debated the rights of care besides the protection rights in the International Covenant.
On the second day, there was talk about economic and social rights in Iraq, and the notion of solidarity, besides the role of civil society institutions (unions – non-governmental organizations). After that, comparative models from countries of the world about social democracy were presented.
They concluded the workshop with thanks extended by the staff of Tammuz, to the participants and the trainer for their attendance, commitment, and interaction in the workshop.
This workshop is the sixth and final of the Fourth Generation Young Leaders Program, where five training workshops were previously held in the governorates (Baghdad – Sulaymaniyah – Erbil – Basra – Najaf) with the participation of trainees from all over Iraq.
