The ninth awareness workshop to ensure the legal rights of displaced people
Tammuz Organization for Social Development / Legal Clinic in Anbar held in collaboration with Legal Clinic Network and UNHCR the ninth workshop to ensure the legal rights of IDPs on 7th of August 2016 in Shuha’ada Camp in Amryat Fallujah, where nearly 380 families of Anbar province reside in, and attending the workshop (48) displaced person (36 women and 12 men) with attending the lawyer of legal clinic Sabti Juma’a Abbas.
Director of Legal Clinic in Anbar / Tammuz Organization for Social Development colleague Ali Ghazal opened the workshop and indicated to the services of Legal Clinics Network in eight provinces present the legal services for poor and marginalized families through these organizations. He in particular talked about the services of legal clinic of Tammuz Organization for Social Development for IDPs of Anbar and also talked about the work and services of legal clinic network. Lawyer of Legal Clinic colleague Sabti Juma’a Abbas presented his legal lecture that concern the definition of IDPs rights in the national legislations and what was approval Act of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration No.21 of 2010 on the rights of displace person and who is displace person, and pointed out the mechanisms of IDPs registry, conditions of registry and demanded documents in the offices of ministry.
Lawyer of legal clinic showed the procedures of voluntary returning for the families want to go back to the liberated regions through review the offices of ministry, and it is as following:
1-Check the branch of Ministry of Displacement and Migration in the province.
2-Bring the documents prove that he is displace person.
3-Open file for displace person.
4- Legal commitment from returned family that they did not received the grant from any branch of the ministry.
During the workshop opened the discussions and inquiries by a number of IDPs and the most prominent is how to get the legal documents after losing or taking by Da’ash, how to certificate marriage contracts in courts, the legal steps to get the salary of Social Welfare for widows and divorces and other questions, the lawyer of legal clinic replied about all questions and inquiries.
It was distributed 75 brochures during workshop for attendees and displaced persons in the camp, then director of legal clinic pointed out that the legal clinic received all questions and inquiries on hotline of Legal Clinic in Anbar province (07809447442 / 07722429560).
The attendees presented thanks and appreciate to Tammuz Organization for Social Development and the legal clinics network for their efforts in service IDPs, and hoped to hold as this legal workshop in the camps.
It is worth noting that this is the ninth workshop of ten workshop held by Tammuz Organization and the last one will hold in another camp during the current month include the legal assistance project for poor and IDPs group that implemented by Tammuz Organization during the legal clinic in Anbar.
