Training on the International agreements, treaties and mechanisms concerned with the women, peace and security agenda

Tammuz Organization for Social Development and The Revolution is Female project, implemented training on “The International agreements, treaties and mechanisms concerned with the women, peace and security agenda” for a group of activists in Najaf Governorate, on March 10-11, 2023, at the hall of the Iraqi Al-Amal Association.

Trainer Ferial Al-Kaabi led the training. On the first day, she dealt with Resolution 1325 in detail, its levels, subsequent decisions, and national plans to implement the resolution, in addition to clarifying the difference between agreements and resolutions. The day it also included dividing the participants into three working groups to work on issues related to Resolution 1325 and discusses them. After that, an explanatory video was shown on the role of Resolution 1325 and its importance in times of war and conflict.

On the second day, the trainer discussed international agreements and mechanisms directly and indirectly related to the status of women during conflicts, in addition to explaining international humanitarian law and the Beijing Declaration. A video on the laws of war was then shown and the content was discussed with the working groups.
