Tammuz Holds Electoral Awareness Forum for Youth and Women in Anbar

As part of the project “Democracy and Transparency: Empowering Civic Engagement and Freedom of the Media”, funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA),  Tammuz Organization for Social Development—in collaboration with the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and its project partners,  Shams and Ein Networks for Election Monitoring—organized an Electoral Awareness Forum for youth and women in Anbar Governorate on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, at the Anbar Provincial Council hall.

The forum was attended by a group of young people and women interested in electoral affairs, along with members of civil society organizations and volunteer teams. During the forum, the legal framework of the elections (the Iraqi Parliamentary Elections Law) was explained, along with the importance of elections and the democratic process, the process of updating the voter register, ballot papers, and polling centers.

The discussions also covered the role of youth and volunteer teams in the electoral process and how to encourage voters to participate in the upcoming elections.
