Experience-Sharing Session Between Two Generations of Women Activists in Dhi Qar

The Women for Democracy project team, implemented by Tammuz Organization for Social Development in Dhi Qar Governorate, held an experience-sharing session between two generations of women activists, in cooperation with the Dhi Qar Women’s Forum and the Iraqi Women’s League, on Friday, 20 June 2025, at the Sumerian Hotel Hall.

The session aimed to foster dialogue and discussion between different generations of activists about success stories, challenges, and difficulties they face in civil society work and the defense of women’s rights.

The discussion focused on the importance of passing down experiences and lessons learned between generations to ensure the continuity of the women’s movement and strengthen the role of young women in leading community initiatives.

In conclusion, the session produced several recommendations emphasizing the empowerment of the new generation of activists and enhancing opportunities for collaboration among women’s organizations to advance the status of women in the governorate.
