Tammuz Conducts a Training Workshop for Returnees from Migration in Dhi Qar

Tammuz Organization for Social Development implemented a training workshop for returnees from migration as part of the project Raising Awareness of the Risks of Irregular Migration in Iraq (RADIM), funded by UK International Development and implemented in partnership with Seefar Foundation, on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, in Dhi Qar Governorate.

The workshop aimed to empower returnees to professionally and effectively narrate their personal stories and the challenges they faced during their migration journeys, contributing to raising community awareness about the risks of irregular migration and its humanitarian and social impacts.

The training, delivered by trainer Ali Maytham, covered several key components. It began with participants sharing their experiences, followed by guidance on storytelling techniques and the concept of emotional storytelling, as well as explanations on identifying the target audience and building an impactful narrative.

The workshop also included a role-playing exercise, during which participants practiced presenting their stories before migration, during migration, and after return, in addition to developing skills for responding to audience and listener questions in a professional and effective manner.
