A consultative session to discuss the right to health report in Iraq
on Monday, December 12, 2022, in Baghdad, The Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in collaboration with the Network of Arab Non-Governmental Organizations for Development, organized a consultative session to discuss the “Right to Health in Iraq” report, prepared by researcher Muntazer Hasan within the Arab Monitor Project.
personalities interested in the health sector, attended the session, along with representatives of civil society organizations and journalists, as the aim was to discuss the report and express observations and suggestions by specialists before its launch with a group of reports from other Arab countries.
The session was opened by our colleague Ali Al-Dujaili, welcoming the guests, followed by the researcher who gave a detailed presentation of the axes of the report, which included several axes, the most important of which are:
Access to health care for non-citizens and the impact of the Corona virus on the health sector and the political economy of health, in addition to the right to health from the perspective of social protection and others.
After that, the door for interventions and discussion was opened about what was mentioned in the report, and all notes and suggestions submitted by the attendees were recorded for the purpose of making the necessary amendments to the report before its release.
