A Ramadan Evening under the Slogan “Women for Women” on International Women’s Day

The project team of “women for Democracy” implemented by Tammuz Organization for Social Development in collaboration with the Al-Amal Iraqi Association, organized a Ramadan evening under the slogan “Women for Women” in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event took place on Friday, March 14, 2025, in Najaf Governorate.
The evening aimed to honor active women and human/women’s rights defenders, showcase their experiences and success stories, and discuss key issues such as women’s empowerment, volunteer work, and women’s political participation. Attendees included academic figures, media representatives, and activists (both men and women). Following the discussions, the most prominent points emphasized were:
* The importance of raising awareness about volunteer work** as a means to enhance community interaction and build bridges of communication between generations.
* The necessity of empowering women** to freely express their opinions, speak out on issues affecting their rights, and stand against violations, as their voices can bring about tangible change.
* The critical role of women’s empowerment in voting and candidacy, emphasizing the need for their active participation in political processes at both local and national levels.
