Awareness Initiative on Breast Cancer in Najaf Governorate

On October 15, 2025, an awareness initiative was implemented in cooperation with the Oncology Hospital in Najaf Governorate. The initiative addressed the topic of breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection for prevention. A group of women attended the activity, during which specialized female doctors delivered a scientific lecture covering prevention methods and emphasizing the role of early detection in increasing recovery rates.

The initiative was distinguished by providing free medical examinations for participants, as a step aimed at encouraging women to undergo regular checkups and promoting a culture of health prevention.

This initiative comes as part of a series of community initiatives implemented by graduates of the Young Leaders Program, carried out by Tammuz Organization for Social Development in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. It was implemented by Zahraa Rajeh, a graduate of the sixth generation from Najaf Governorate, as part of her belief in the importance of contributing to raising health awareness and empowering women to care for their well-being and support their communities.
