Digital Security Training for a Group of Female Activists in Dhi Qar

As part of the “Women for Democracy” project implemented by Tammuz Organization for Social Development, a digital security training session was organized for a group of female activists in Dhi Qar Governorate on Friday, 25 June 2025.
The session was led by trainer Sadiq Al-Sahl, who addressed the reasons individuals might target and compromise our digital lives. He explained the importance of enabling two-factor authentication and how it helps protect personal accounts from breaches.
The trainer also clarified the difference between HTTP and HTTPS, discussed secure browsing practices, and demonstrated how to verify the safety of links. He guided participants on how to create strong, hard-to-crack passwords and store them safely using password management applications. Additionally, the session included a discussion on social engineering tactics, their dangers, and phishing tools and techniques.
The session concluded with a segment on online blackmail, exploring the best ways to avoid becoming a victim of cyber extortion, and outlining the appropriate steps victims can take to seek help and respond to such threats.
