Media Reporting about Project to Reduce Violence against Women in Society
Under slogan (Together for ending violence against women), Tammuz Organization for Social Development in cooperation with United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) carried out project to reduce violence against women in society, and it has been held two educative dialogue workshops to decrease violence against women. One of these workshop held in Dhi Qar University on 30/10/2007 and the second one in Muthana University on 4/11/2007.
Our organization seeks to carry out such a project to contribute to the dissemination of cultural and social awareness and work on women’s equality and activate their potential and enable them to fulfill their role in the community by educating them about their rights, claim and defending them and benefit from the project by acquiring the skill to solve problems and difficulties that suffer them, and train them how to claim their rights and develop social relationships, and stop the repression against them, in addition to participating in rehabilitation of economic and social projects in order to be capable of facing the bad conditions in which they live in it and have a prominent role in the notable community.It is worth mentioning that Tammuz Organization for Social Development also carries out project in Babil University and continuing workshops in Dhi Qar and Muthana Universities
