Tammuz Conducts a Training Workshop for Returnees from Migration in Nineveh

Tammuz Organization for Social Development implemented a training workshop for returnees from migration, in cooperation with the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, as part of the Raising Awareness of the Risks of Irregular Migration in Iraq (RADIM) project, funded by UK International Development and implemented in partnership with Seefar Foundation, on Tuesday, 4 January 2026, in Nineveh Governorate.

The workshop aimed to empower returnees to narrate their personal stories and the challenges they faced during the migration journey in a professional and impactful manner, contributing to raising community awareness of the risks of irregular migration and its humanitarian and social implications.

The training, facilitated by trainer Salem Elias, covered several components, beginning with participants sharing their experiences, followed by guidance on storytelling techniques and the concept of emotional storytelling, as well as explanations on identifying the audience and building an effective narrative.

The workshop also included a role-playing exercise, during which participants practiced presenting their stories before migration, during migration, and after return, in addition to learning how to respond to audience and listener questions in a professional and effective manner.
