Vigil in Najaf to repeal Article 409 of the Iraqi Penal Code

on Monday, February 6, 2023, The Female Revolution Team – Najaf Governorate, in cooperation with the Iraqi Women’s League, held a vigil to call for an end to violence against women and the abolition of Article 409 of the Iraqi Penal Code.

The vigil had the participation of several young activists and representatives of civil society organizations and in the presence of the media. They raised slogans called for the protection of women and an end to violence against them, besides submitting a request to many parliamentarians to press for the adoption of the Domestic Violence Law.
