Tammuz Concludes the Sixth Generation of the Young Leaders Program

Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in partnership with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), concluded the sixth generation of the Young Leaders Program after holding the third and final workshop titled “Designing Initiatives and Advocacy Campaigns”, which took place from September 4 to 6, 2025, in Erbil.

The workshop hosted 25 trainees from all Iraqi governorates and lasted for three days under the guidance of trainer Khidher Kalo Ali Domle. On the first day, the training addressed several topics including the general concept of advocacy, definitions, justifications for advocacy campaigns, and their types. It also covered the roadmap for implementing advocacy campaigns on societal issues, necessary skills for campaigners, the stages of campaign design, and how to select relevant advocacy issues.

On the second day, the trainer explained the pathways and steps for implementing advocacy campaigns, with a focus on specialized community issues. He also provided tools for selecting impactful causes.

The third day was dedicated to building participants’ skills in designing community initiatives. The trainer discussed the features, goals, and implementation strategies of successful initiatives, presenting several real-life examples.

Throughout the three days, participants engaged in intensive practical exercises, allowing them to design professional initiatives and advocacy campaigns that can be applied in their communities post-graduation.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Tammuz’s team expressed their gratitude to the trainer and participants for their commitment and interaction throughout this and previous workshops, wishing them success in their leadership journeys and in creating positive change in their communities.

It is worth mentioning that the Young Leaders Program is implemented annually by Tammuz Organization in partnership with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), and has graduated five previous generations, totaling over 160 young leaders from diverse Iraqi backgrounds, religions, and ethnicities.
