A Climate Change Risk Awareness Session in Najaf

The project team of “women for Democracy” project, implemented by the Tammuz Organization, conducted an awareness session on the dangers of climate change as part of the campaign “Women and Climate, Their Protection is a Duty” on Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Al-Manathira district, Najaf Governorate.

The session was attended by 23 women, with the aim of discussing the dangers of climate change and its effects on society in general, and on women in particular. During the session, the discussion revolved around how to preserve the environment by using eco-friendly tools. The session also touched on the diseases and health problems that climate change specifically causes for women.

Additionally, the session addressed the situation of women in the Al-Manathira district and the extent to which their health is affected by pollution and climate change in the area. In conclusion, the session resulted in a set of recommendations that will be discussed with the relevant government authorities responsible for environmental issues in order to find appropriate solutions.
