Meeting of the Subcommittee for the Electoral Awareness Forum in Anbar Governorate

As part of the project “Democracy and Transparency: Empowering Civic Engagement and Freedom of the Media”, funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and its project partners Shams and Ein Networks for Election Monitoring—held a meeting of the Subcommittee for the Electoral Awareness Forum in Anbar Governorate on Tuesday, 27 May 2025.

The meeting was attended by representatives from IHEC, the NGO Directorate, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, civil society organizations, and professional unions. The purpose of the meeting was to establish the Subcommittee for the Electoral Awareness Forum in Anbar, introduce the “Democracy and Transparency” project, and develop a tailored action plan for upcoming electoral awareness forums in the governorate.

The meeting also included discussions on various aspects of the electoral process, including the Iraqi election law, biometric voter registration updates, and related matters.`
