Tammuz Holds Electoral Awareness Forum for Youth and Women in Salah al-Din

As part of the project “Democracy and Transparency: Empowering Civic Engagement and Freedom of the Media”, funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), Tammuz Organization for Social Development—in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and its project partners, Shams and Ein Networks for Election Monitoring—organized an Electoral Awareness Forum for youth and women in Salah al-Din Governorate on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, at the hall of the Directorate of Youth and Sports.
The forum was attended by a group of young people and women interested in electoral affairs, as well as members of civil society organizations and volunteer teams. The forum covered the legal framework for elections (the Iraqi Parliamentary Elections Law), the importance of elections and the democratic process, updating the voter register, ballot papers, and polling centers.
Discussions also focused on the role of youth and volunteer groups in the electoral process and how to encourage voters to participate in the upcoming elections.
