The Role of Youth in Violence and Its Impact on Societal Peace

As part of the activities of the Subcommittee for Combating Violent Extremism in Dhi Qar Governorate, the Tammuz Organization for Social Development held an educational seminar for students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Dhi Qar. The seminar addressed the role of youth in violence and its repercussions on societal peace, and took place on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

The event was attended by a large number of professors and students, alongside Dr. Haydar Shamkhi, Dean of the College, and Assistant Professor Dr. Nasrallah Radi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs.

Discussions during the seminar revolved around the causes of violence and extremism, the negative and alien factors influencing society, their dangerous consequences, and ways to empower youth to confront these phenomena. The seminar featured valuable interventions that reflected participants’ commitment to promoting moderation, rejecting violence and extremism, and countering deviant ideologies.
