Tammuz Organization opens the Mandi Park in Nasiriyah after redesigning and rehabilitating it

On February 20, 2023, and as part of the (Ta’afi) program funded by #USAID, Tammuz Organization for Social Development opened the Mandi Park in Nasiriyah, after months of continuous work, which included redesigning and rehabilitating it to be an outlet for the residential areas near the park.
The opening ceremony was attended by the police chief of Nasiriyah, Major General Makki Shnaa, representatives of the local government in Dhi Qar, in addition to directors and representatives of government departments, the president and members of the Mandaean community in the governorate, professors from Dhi Qar University and the Technical Institute, representatives of some civil society organizations, intellectuals and poets from the governorate’s creators.

The ceremony began with an introduction by our colleague Razzaq Obaid Daher, who gave a brief overview of the first steps of the project, which included meetings with stakeholders, designing, implementation, and the opening ceremony.

After that, Mr. Haider Ibrahim, a representative of the local government in Dhi Qar, gave a word of thanks to the Tammuz Organization for the great efforts it had made and is still making in order to raise Dhi Qar Governorate to better levels in all fields. The ceremony also included several events, including the poetry section, through which poets sang about the governorate and its history.
